1. Nuapay Account-to-Account Payments – Help

In an Open Banking, account-to-account payment, when you purchase goods or services, you authorise the transfer of funds directly from your bank account to your merchant’s account.

You don’t need a credit card and because you are approving the payment on your online banking system, you do not need to share any sensitive information with your merchant or with Nuapay. You simply log on to your bank and approve the payment; we’ll do the rest!

To make your payment:

  1. Select your bank.
  2. Scan the QR code to open your banking app on your mobile phone or continue on your current device.
  3. Log on as normal and follow the instructions to approve your payment.
  4. Once you confirm the payment you will be automatically logged out of your bank and passed back to the Payment Confirmation screen.
  5. Your account will be debited, and the payment will be credited to the merchant; the transfer generally happens in seconds but can take up to one business day.

NOTE: Nuapay does not charge you for making a payment through our service however other parties in the payment (your merchant and/or bank) may apply a charge.

2. Payment and Mandate/ Direct Debit Instruction

If you are using the Payment and Mandate/DDI Setup, you make an Open Banking payment and are then prompted to sign up for future payments to be collected via recurring Direct Debits.

To make a first payment and arrange for future payments to be collected via Direct Debit:

  1. Select your bank.
  2. Scan the QR code to open your banking app on your mobile phone or continue on your current device.
  3. Log on to your banking portal as normal and follow the instructions to approve your payment.
  4. Once you confirm the payment you will be automatically logged out of your bank and passed back to Nuapay and prompted to sign the Mandate/Direct Debit Instruction.
  5. Once you sign, future payments will be collected via Direct Debit.

3. Account Access and Mandate / Direct Debit Instruction Setup

If you are using Account Access and Mandate/DDI Setup, you will be asked to provide your consent for Nuapay to retrieve your account information (your name and account number). We will then use these details to render the Mandate / Direct Debit Instruction Signup screen.

NOTE: We will not retrieve any balance or transaction information: only your account name and account number are retrieved, once you provide your consent.

To set up your mandate / Direct Debit Instruction:

  1. Select your bank.
  2. Scan the QR code to open your banking app on your mobile phone or continue on your current device.
  3. You will be transferred to your bank’s online system.
  4. Log on as normal and follow the instructions to grant access to your account information.
  5. You will be automatically logged out of your bank and passed back to Nuapay and prompted to sign the Mandate/Direct Debit Instruction.
  6. Once you sign, and your mandate/Direct Debit Instruction is processed, payments will be collected via Direct Debit.
